Qld: Man found dead after house fire in Townsville

BRISBANE, April 13 AAP - The body of a man has been found at the scene of a housefire
in north Queensland.

A police spokeswoman said emergency services were called to the Ross River Road residence
at the Townsville suburb of Aitkenvale around 6.50pm (AEST) last night.

Queensland Fire and Rescue Service officers extinguished the blaze and found the man inside.

The man has yet to be identified.

Authorities will begin an extensive investigation into the cause of the fire today.
