Chrysler's Dilts focuses on increasing car sales.(Gary Dilts)(Brief Article)(Interview)

Gary Dilts was named the Chrysler group's senior vice president of sales in February 2001 after CEO Dieter Zetsche broomed the sales and marketing department.

Dilts says it has taken him nearly a year to rebuild dealer trust. His focus now is on improving sales in areas the group has ignored, primarily cars.

He says a new turbo version of the PT Cruiser due in June will make it more appealing to younger buyers.

Dilts spoke with Staff Reporter Diana T. Kurylko at the National Automobile Dealers Association convention in New Orleans in January.
