The golden slippers will keep on struttin' up Broad Street, but the sidewalk stagger will be gone - booze has been banned at the annual New Year's Mummers Parade.
The extravaganza has become known almost as much for sideline partying as the elaborate plumes, sequins and satins on the marchers strutting 2 1/2 miles up the city's main drag.
But in another sign of a trend toward sober New Year celebrations in the United States, drunks won't be tolerated this year, either marching or watching.
